If you’re an energy drink connoisseur, then you may know Red Bull has discontinued a couple of flavors in the past few years. And Orange, tangerine Red Bull is one of those recent tragedies.

There is no official indication from the manufacturers about when the Orange, tangerine Red Bull will come back. However, the possibility can’t be ruled out completely as there have been instances where products made a return even after they were discontinued.

Read on to find out when this orange flavor was discontinued, the reasons for this discontinuation, and the best alternatives.

Will Orange Red Bull Come Back?

So far, there is no official assurance about the revival of the Orange, tangerine edition Red Bull. Hence, except for speculation and hope, we don’t have any other choice.

Red Bull has discontinued a couple of other flavors, not just with this Orange.

For example, they also discontinued the Cranberry flavor, which also had a decent following among the fans of Red Bull.

We have a complete post about the discontinuation of the cranberry Red Bull. You can check that out for more information.

Why Did They Discontinue Orange (Tangerine) Red Bull?

Red Bull added the orange edition to their product line in 2016. However, they discontinued it later on.

Unfortunately, there are no official dates for when this product was discontinued. But our research suggests that it was nearly in 2020 when the Orange, tangerine Red Bull fans started posting about its discontinuation.

Also, there is no official disclosure from the company about why they discontinued the orange flavor. So, of course, what we can say here will be based on general assumptions.

Firstly, Red Bull is a private company. So, their decisions have to be made based on their best business interest, after all.

One of the reasons their Cranberry flavor was discontinued is because it wasn’t performing well.

They replaced it with the watermelon flavor. (We have discussed more on this in our Cranberry Red Bull post.)

So as you can see, Red Bull often looks for products that don’t perform well. Then, they replace it with the best-performing ones or discontinue it to promote others in their product lines.

There have been assumptions by Red Bull consumers online that Red Bull discontinued their orange flavor, likely to push the other flavor more.

So several factors could have possibly led to the discontinuation. It seems like Red Bull made this decision based on their business strategy.

Will Orange (Tangerine) Red Bull Ever Come Back?

We can’t rule out the revival possibility of the orange flavor completely. There have been instances when a company revived a product either for a limited or extended time.

In our previous posts, we highlighted how the Surge and Crystal Pepsi were brought back even after they were discontinued. Here we are about to share with you a new example.

Do you remember Clearly Canadian? If you’re from the 90s, then most likely you would. It is a glass-bottled soft drink that was a sought-after sip in those days.

After being discontinued for nearly six years, the company announced that this product would come back in 2015. So naturally, the fans of this fruit-flavored sparkling water were quite excited to hear about the return of this product.

So everything is possible. Of course, there has to be considerable demand from loyal fans. (Otherwise, companies have to make business decisions after all and look at their profits.)

While researching the Orange Edition Red Bull, we also came across an online petition on change.org.

We won’t comment on the effectiveness of any petition. However, as of writing this post, the petition is still receiving signatures, likely from fans eager to see this product back.

So far, as a fan of the Orange, and tangerine flavor, you have two options. Either keep the hope and wait. Or just forget about it and start looking for alternatives.
